Round the Island Race
On 20th June the Round the Island Race was held in England. The conditions were difficult with light winds and the fleet "jammed" up several times coming with wind from behind. DF 28 took part in this race for the first time, sailed by Alistair Wood, Matt Johnston and Jens Quorning. The DF 28 was first Dragonfly to finish the race, where in total 11 Dragonflies entered.
The DF 28 was the second production trimaran to finish on elapsed time, but due to the difficult wind, several boats gave up, whereas boats with lower ratings had a big advantage in this year's race. DF 28 came in forth on handicap with a sailing time of 9 hours and 23 minutes. To "compare" sailing time for IDEC was 7.46 minutes, which shows how difficult it was this year. First boat across the line was Extreme 40.
